The Elizabeth (Betty) Jones Archive is a lifetime's documentation of reflective thinking and storytelling about learning through play across the life cycle. The archive includes articles, speeches, workshops and collaborative writing with her students and colleagues. It contains work by other educators who share her interests. Topics include play, emergent curriculum, language and literacy, environments, storytelling, life cycle valuing diversity, and more. Elizabeth (Betty) Jones began teaching young children at Pacific Oaks Children’s School in 1954. Observing how preschoolers learn through play planted the seed for this archive. Building upon her observations of how children learn, she created playful learning environments for adults at Pacific Oaks College. Along the way, she collected ideas from varied sources. Her archive grew for more than 60 years.
