Citation Management is a form or subset of data management. It involves organizing your citations so that you can easily track down your citations again and ensure that you don't accidently a source that you need to properly cite within your project. There are a number of ways to manage citations. Some people like to manage citations by hand or typing them out. Others like to use Citation Management Software to help.
Citation Management is personal to each person, and while manually typing them out or writing them out by hand works for some, the University Library highly recommends the use of Citation Management Software by scholars as it drastically simplifies one part of a doing research.
