Description:

The Children's PTSD Inventory is designed as a structured interview, intended for assessment of posttraumatic stress disorder in children and adolescents between 6 and 18 years of age. The Inventory consists of an answer sheet, a scoring sheet, and the manual. The item set consists of five sections of questions that closely follow the DSM-IV-TR diagnostic criteria for PTSD: Exposure and Situational Reactivity, Reexperiencing, Avoidance and Numbing, Increased Arousal, and Significant Distress or Impairment. The questionnaire component can be completed in approximately 15-20 minutes with children who exhibit PTSD symptomatology, and less than 5 minutes with children with a history of stress exposure who do not manifest PTSD symptoms.
