Library Course Readings in Canvas

Reading & Resources Pilot Overview

Many thanks to all our faculty who are willing to test our new course reading tool, also known as Leganto.
Just briefly, in Canvas, students can access course resources with the Course Readings and Resources tool. Instructors can add electronic articles, streaming media, digitized content, physical materials, and more into a single reading list so students can access all their course materials in one place. Instructors can also search the library's collection for books, articles, and Open Educational Resources, which can then be added to reading lists; library staff can process reserve items efficiently, and students can access all course materials in one place and from any device. Most importantly this tool will integrate with Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) to ensure compliance with copyright laws and accepted practices.

While there's a lot that the Readings & Resource tool can do, creating a new list can be done in a few easy steps. Follow the links below or the navigation tabs for more info.

  1. Getting Started: Adding the tool to your Canvas Course
  2. Create your list
  3. Add content, either from the library or your own resources
  4. Publish you list so your students can see it
