The Saybrook University Library is committed to supporting the teaching and research needs of our faculty. The library connects students, faculty and staff with an expansive array of information and research materials; identifies, acquires and manages access to scholarly information related to all areas of study and research at Saybrook University; provides reference and instruction services; and provides interlibrary loan services.

Please review the guides linked on this page for information about copyright, affordable educational resources, and online teaching resources. Also linked below are forms for suggesting purchases. Use the Suggest a Purchase form for a one-time purchase such as an eBook or video. Use the Suggest a Journal or Database form for ongoing purchases such as journals, databases or memberships.

The library will make every effort to fulfill requests but the final decision will be made based on:

• anticipated use, relevance or connection to courses and programs
• accuracy and authority
• cost
• publisher limitations

When completing forms, please provide as much information as possible in the interest of time and efficiency.

If your students need to do research for a paper, thesis or dissertation, they may benefit from instruction in how to access library resources. To request a course or subject-specific guide or if you want a librarian to conduct an instruction session for your students, please use the Ask Us a Question or Make a Suggestion form below or email the library at library@saybrook.edu.

If you need to request permission for a resource you are using in your Canvas course, please complete the form below. Please submit the request at least 30 days prior to the start of the term to ensure adequate time for library staff to obtain permission.
