APA is providing temporary free access (extended until July 1, 2020) to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th and 7th editions), and more than 160 other books published by APA Books through VitalSource and RedShelf. Last week, the Internet Archive launched a National Emergency Library of 1.4 million digitized books, available to borrow without our normal waitlist. It is an emergency measure at an extraordinary moment in time, when virtually every library in the nation has closed, cutting off access to hundreds of millions of books for teachers, professors, and students. To answer the many questions from our patrons and authors, we'd like to share this response.

Beginning March 16 through May 25, 2020, VitalSource will work with participating publishers to provide free access to an expansive catalog of eTexts will be available for free to students at semester-calendar institutions who have been impacted by the recent crisis. Snagit is a screen capture and recording tool that lets users quickly create and share images and videos to create training content, tutorials, lessons, and step-by-step instructions; Record meetings and presentations, create how-to training materials, pre-record academic lectures or supplemental learning content to share with students. Starting on March 12, Adobe is providing free 90-day access for Adobe Connect, until July 1st, 2020. Individuals and businesses who aren’t customers can now use Adobe Connect rooms with up to 25 participants for free for up to 90 days.
