Tips for Writing a Literature Review

Here are some tips to help you write your literature review:

  • Keep your thinking clear; use headings and subheadings to clarify the structure
  • Remember your audience and use the appropriate terminology
  • It's okay (and even encouraged) to have multiple drafts
  • Use direct quotations sparingly
  • Include proper citations
  • Before writing, decide how to organize it - chronologically, thematically or methodologically
