We apologize for any inconvenience this required maintenance will cause. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time.
Please do not hesitate to contact the library at library@saybrook.edu or use the 24/7 Live Chat option if you experience any issues or have any questions about this event.
Beginning November 22nd and ending December 6th, the library’s backend system will be unavailable due to required maintenance. During this time, some services will be impacted, including:
Interlibrary Loan: Requests for digital materials will be processed manually by library staff. Use the Saybrook Interlibrary Loan Request Form to request materials. Please note that you may experience some delays.
OneSearch: Searching and accessing articles and other e-resources in OneSearch will be available. You CAN still search and click on articles, eBooks, videos, etc. Permalinks to readings in your syllabi or Canvas course will still be available.
However, the OneSearch virtual library card feature will not be available. If you use the OneSearch virtual library card, please refer to the instructions below for steps to take during the freeze.
Go to OneSearch and sign in. Your options will be displayed in the menu under your name in the upper right corner.
My Loans: NA
Saybrook Library does not use this feature.
My Requests:
If you are storing any articles you received from Interlibrary Loan in your OneSearch account, they will be stored under the My Requests tab. Download these to your device if you need to access them during the tech freeze.
RefWorks: NA
RefWorks will operate as usual during the freeze.
My Favorites
OneSearch allows you to save records and search queries in your OneSearch account. These appear in the My Favorites section. When you click the My Favorites option, your saved records, saved searches, and search history will appear. If you need to access any of these saved records during the freeze period., click the ellipse menu (…) and then choose an option.
You may send it to your RefWorks or other citation manager, print it, permalink it, retrieve the citation and paste it to a document, or email it to yourself.
If you have Saved Searches and want a record of them to use during the freeze, we recommend you take a screen shot of them or jot them down on a document.
Search History: NA
Display Language: English: NA
These suggestions should not take much time to complete. They are necessary only if you want to access these items during the freeze.
Again, YOU CAN STILL USE ONESEARCH AND THE A-Z DATABASE LIST TO SEARCH FOR AND ACCESS ARTICLES AND OTHER RESOURCES.
