About Grammarly

The full, Premium version of Grammarly is free to you as a Saybrook student, staff, or faculty member!

Grammarly is a writing assistant that helps users improve the accuracy, clarity, and readability of their writing. It can help with grammar, spelling, punctuation, usage, wordiness, style, tone, and plagiarism. Grammarly's algorithms flag potential issues in a user's text and provide suggestions for improvement. Grammarly can be installed for use on your web browser (including in Canvas), in MS Word, or on your mobile device.

If you already have a free or Premium Grammarly account, you must log out and log in again to create your Saybrook account. You can also request a refund from Grammarly if you personally paid for a Premium subscription.

To Create Your Free Saybrook Grammarly Account:

1. Go to the Saybrook Grammarly site at https://grammarly.saybrook.edu/ (Pick your Saybrook Microsoft account and log in with your Saybrook credentials if prompted).
2. At the Grammarly site, create an account with your Saybrook email address and password. Your free access will work only if you use your Saybrook email address.
3. Once logged into your Saybrook account, click APPS in the left-hand menu to download Grammarly for various devices and platforms, based on how you want to use Grammarly (see below).
