Stress can be debilitating, and it can cause or aggravate health problems. It is also one of the biggest public health challenges we are facing. Stress is a normal part of human existence so it’s a good idea to learn about and recognize it so we can better manage it. Stress Awareness Month happens each April to raise awareness of the causes and cures for our modern-day stress epidemic.
The National Institutes of Health has resources for helping you effectively cope with stress.

Visit the NIH National Stress Awareness Month page to learn more.

And remember that Saybrook University students have free, 24/7 access to virtual care services with TimelyCare. TimelyCare supports the whole student , from mental health to medical care. TimelyCare works to help combat the campus mental health crisis.

Visit the TimelyCare page of the Student Affairs website for more information.

Finally, turn to library resources to help you manage stress. Access articles, eBooks and streaming videos such as:

Kaluza, Gert. (2022). Calm and Confident under Stress : The Stress Competence Book: Recognize, Understand, Manage Stress. Springer Berlin / Heidelberg.
